The Helios effort is a solar energy initiative at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and UC Berkeley. The primary goal of this effort is to develop methods to “store” solar energy in the form of renewable transportation fuel.

The University of California, Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) seek applicants for an assistant professor, tenure-track faculty position in experimental physical chemistry beginning in the fall of 2010. This position is jointly funded through the Berkeley campus and the Helios Project at LBNL.

Creative candidates who show extraordinary promise or accomplishment in research and teaching in experimental physical chemistry are specifically sought. Research plans with a focus broadly on solar energy, including topics such as solar fuel, photocatalysis, and artificial photosynthesis is essential.
