The University of California, Berkeley seeks applicants for an assistant professor, tenure-track faculty position that is joint with the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology beginning in the fall of 2010. This position is funded through the Energy Biosciences Institute, a new and exciting venture between UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, University of Illinois, and BP.

Creative candidates who show extraordinary promise or accomplishment in research and teaching are specifically sought in areas that include: enzyme discovery, and/or enzyme mechanism. A research program that has direct application toward the development of biofuels is essential.
